Support SWEMS

The Springwater Wayland EMS is a 501C3 non-profit organization.  We currently serve the Town of Wayland for Emergency Medical Services with a 100% Volunteer Staff.  As with most non-profit organizations, your donation is tax deductible.

We have purchased the Bennett Brothers Building and are currently renovating it to both fit our needs and maintain the historic look as much as we can. After the completion of the firewall, our plans include

  • Installation of a Decontamination room (with a shower, washer and dryer)
  • a new training room, allowing us to increase our member’s skills while also giving us more opportunity to teach safety classes to the community
  • crew quarters for our volunteers to be able to both work and relax while waiting on schedule for calls
  • ADA compliant bathroom

To track the improvements we have made to the Bennett Brothers Memorial Building, please visit this page.

We have received much support from our annual fund drive as well as several grants. In 2020, we received over $13,000 in donations from the community and $50,000 worth of grants to improve our service with about 20% of that earmarked for building improvements. Most grants do not support building renovations, which is where your help comes in!

As an independent organization, SWEMS is not affiliated with any Fire Department and receives no money from property taxes. Our sole income is from service revenue, grants and donations like yours.
